In June 2024, I had the pleasure of working once again with the stunning Jourdan Miller, winner of America's Next Top Model cycle 20. Over the past decade, Jourdan and I have collaborated on numerous photoshoots, and our friendship has only deepened. However, this latest session in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, was particularly special. We hadn't shot together in several years, and there were definitely some nerves about getting back into the swing of things. But the moment the camera started clicking, we found ourselves right back in our old, familiar territory.

The shoot was designed to tell a story—or multiple stories—through our imagery, capturing different moods and aesthetics. Each segment of the photoshoot had its own unique vibe and styling.

Simple Portraits: Warm-Up Session

The first portion of the shoot served as a warm-up, featuring simple portraits without much styling. Jourdan posed on a couch and in front of a beautiful window, allowing her natural beauty to shine through. These intimate, relaxed shots set the tone for the rest of the day and eased us back into our creative groove.

Dreamy Elegance: Garden Setting

For the second segment, we moved to a lush, green garden with a wall of greenery. Jourdan wore a stunning white dress that added a dreamy and elegant vibe to the shots. The contrast between the white dress and the vibrant greenery created a visually captivating scene that felt almost ethereal.

Fashion Forward: Poolside Chic

Next, we shifted to a more fashion-forward setup by the pool. The bright blue water and surrounding greenery provided a fresh, lively backdrop. Jourdan wore a white button-up shirt and bathing suit bottoms, paired with chic Christian Dior sandals. This segment exuded a modern, stylish flair that highlighted Jourdan's versatility as a model.

Vintage Glamour: Golden Hour Glow

The fourth portion of the shoot took on a vintage fashion theme with warm pink colors, making the imagery feel like it was from a different era. The prominent sun and golden hour glow added a nostalgic, romantic touch to the photos. This setting allowed us to play with light and shadow, creating images that felt timeless and evocative.

Artistic Expression: Jourdan in Her Studio

The final segment of the shoot showcased Jourdan's artistic talents outside of modeling. We captured her in her studio, surrounded by her artwork, with a very old-school, vintage look. The warm sepia tones and black-and-white images added depth and character, highlighting Jourdan's creativity and passion for art.

A Creative Reunion

The overall energy of the shoot was fantastic. Reconnecting with Jourdan and creating new imagery after our last shoot in 2016 was a truly rewarding experience. We've worked together many times since 2014, but this was the longest stretch without collaborating. It felt great to be back together, capturing moments that tell a story and celebrating our creative synergy.
